+ Interview with Ika Johannesson, Erik Danielsson and Daniel Ekeroth on SVT (Svenska TV) +
Ika: Back to Morbid. Tell me about them.
Erik Danielsson: Morbid were ... i can say one of the first? Yes, one of the first bands that had the same tendence of Bathory. You could see the influence of darkness and something hard in some way. They borrowed a lot of speed and thrash metal material. Just in terms of image, Pelle "Dead" was the singer from Stockholm. He was probably 17 years old. He published the first demo. They played in youth centers to Haninge. They brought with them coffins and smoke machines. The other bands did not have them either. Bathory never played live.
Daniel Ekeroth: They played in some leisure center and dragged in a way as if you had the need to do so.
Erik Danielsson: They never tried to imitate bands like Wasp or Mercyful Fate. It was his inventions, his expression. He made the band special and became a cult very quickly.
Daniel Ekeroth: It was all different. Few years ago there has been a release.
Ika: Where it contains all the recordings. Now! It was 1986-1987. That's when it has been recorded it. Then the singer went to Norway with Mayhem and started the Black Metal scene there. When you think Black Metal you think Norway, but it was widespread in Sweden in 1990. The shows were to new levels. How would you describe the scene? How did you develop on stage?
Erik Danielsson: I think Quorthon of Bathory released the disc before Pelle "Dead" entered in Mayhem who made the Norwegian black metal interesting.
Daniel Ekeroth: Mayhem was something completely different before Pelle.
Ika: It can be said therefore did the Norwegian black metal come from Sweden?
Erik Danielsson: It's a fact.

+ A curiosity about the "Kartan" or "Map" +
Do you recognize this place? This was a place for hangout with friends and musicians during the 80s. At that time there were 10 or 40 people during the weekend. This place has called "Kartan" in swedish and it means "map". You can't find this anymore because now there's no "Map" but lockers for luggage. Kartan was at the Central Station in Stockholm. In this picture you can see Treblinka and Nicke Andersson (Entombed) with a strange woman hat who he found near to sewer!! Very Extreme!!!
+ Mayhem Car +
Do you remember this car? This was the famous Mayhem car who they used to travel until Eskilstuna to go at Merciless recordings in 1989. From Swedish Death Metal Book.

+ Some Words by Uffe Cederlund ex-guitarist of Morbid +
"When i joined in Morbid, we fixed some songs and we started to be a serious band. We have done only one concert in that period in Birkagården (Vasastan, near Stockholm) with Hatred (Swedish Thrash Metal Band) and Tribulation (Another Band). I remember before the gig L.G. Petrov sent an anonymous threatening letter to Hatred, whining about their singer. Somehow they have discovered this and it was embarassing to do the gig. Pelle, Jens and John got angry so much with L.G. and they were thinking to send him away"

+ Words By Fredrik Karlèn Of Merciless About Pelle +
Fredrik Karlèn: " During recordings, guys of Mayhem came here to do headbanging in the studio, it was funny!! I'll never forget !!! I have seen Mayhem only in picture and i expected guys tall 2 meters, drunk and ready weapons. It wasn't like that!! First Pelle entered in the house with his long legs and blond hair, while the other two short people, with black hair, were behind him. Looked like a scene of Lord Of The Rings with Gandalf and two Hobbits!! Pelle was continuing to talk about absurd things he experimented inside the house in Norway, while Øystein was drinking coca-cola. He was talking about a Merciless tour in east Europe. Necrobutcher instead was a cool guy who wanted to drink always whisky. Mayhem were great guys at that time. They looked happy when they came back in Norway with the master of The Awakening in the trunk of their car and the dice who were hanging in the rearview mirror. That's true!! Damn!! Pelle i miss you".
+ Some Curiosity About Tape Trading +
I'm reading the famous book "Swedish Death Metal" by Daniel Ekeroth and the scene has been explained very good. I understood that many musicians in the underground scene, sent demo tapes to other bands members and so on. This demo exchange has called "Tape Trading". Many death metallers and also Pelle were used to write so many letters a day to send at other musicians, included the demo tapes.
